By air: Albuquerque is the nearest major airport, 135 miles south. Rental car agencies are at the airport. For ground transportation, contact Faust's Transportation, 505-758-3410 in Taos, or 843-9042 in Albuquerque; or Pride of Taos, 758-8340.

By car:: I–25 north to Santa Fe, then Hwys. 285, 84 and 68 to Taos. Taos Ski Valley is 18 miles farther north on Hwy. 150. For Red River head north on Hwy. 522 and east on Hwy. 38. For Angel Fire go east on Hwy. 64. Here's a detailed road map.

Getting around: If you stay in Taos Ski Valley village and have no desire to go into the town of Taos 18 miles away, you won't need a car. If you want to visit the town, or aren't staying at the ski area, you'll need one. In Red River you won't need a car, but you'll need one to get there. The same goes for Angel Fire, where you can park your car and forget it.
