Group lessons: The Sunday River Ski and Snowboard School created the innovative teaching program called Perfect Turn®. It combines state-of-the-art ski technique with state-of-the-art educational theory. The Sprint Perfect Turn Discovery Center offers one-stop shopping: lift tickets, lessons and rental equipment are all in one spot.

Perfect Turn has eight levels. For lower intermediates and higher, the clinics normally last 90 minutes with a maximum of six skiers. Skiers watch a short video that demonstrates various levels of skiing ability. The video eliminates the “ski-off,” which usually takes up about 40 minutes of a two-hour lesson. Clinics are offered twice daily and cost $35.

First-timer package: The Learn-to-Ski and Ride package includes the clinic, equipment rental and a lift ticket for the South Ridge and North Peak. It costs $80. Sunday River guarantees Level 1 skiers will be able to ride a lift, turn and stop by the end of the clinic, or they can either repeat it free or get their money back. A three-day clinic costs $180.

Private lessons: $80 – $95 for one hour; $200–$226 for a half day; $417 for a full day. Discounts available for second person in lesson.
