Mountain LayoutSkiing
Here's a detailed trail map.
Expert and Advanced:
Mt. Disney, one of three peaks at Sugar Bowl, has advanced runs
off either side of a ridge. Mt. Lincoln also has advanced terrain
dropping directly beneath the lift. There's an expert very steep
cliff area, The '58 and The Palisades, to the right of the Mt. Lincoln
Express that's double diamond and comparable to the jumps at Squaw.
There is some good tree skiing off Crow's Nest peak down the face
or through Strawberry Fields.
Intermediate: From
the top of the Disney Express head down the left side of the ridge
along Crow's Traverse then drop down Pony Express, Montgomery and
Upper Mac into Disney Meadows. Keep up your speed and stay high
at the end of the run to avoid having to push to the lift. From
the top of the Mt. Lincoln Express head to the right down Crowley's
Run, Rahlves' Run and eventually head back top the base of the lift
along Ridge Run or Silver Belt Finger. The entire area served by
Mt. Judah Express and Jerome Hill Express is an intermediate paradise,
perfect for long cruising with occasional short steeps.
Beginner and First-timer:
Beginners have beautiful long runs off the Christmas Tree and Mt.
Judah chairs. White Pine at Mt. Judah is an excellent teaching area,
segregated from the main ski trails. Beginners staying at the Inn
at Sugar Bowl can reach the Christmas Tree and Mt. Judah chairs
via the Nob Hill chairlift.
