Child care: Ages 3–5 years (toilet-trained). All day costs $100; half day is $70 (no lunch). Sugar Bears Child Care is a licensed center with educational and recreational activities as well as skiing and quiet time. The program includes snacks, lunch, lessons and ski equipment. Reservations required; call (530) 426-6776 well in advance. The child-care center has two locations: The Village, reachable only via the gondola, and in the Learning Center at the Mt. Judah base area.

Other options: Baby's Away (800-446-9030; 530-544-2229) rents and will deliver baby items (cribs, strollers, toys, etc.) to your hotel or condo. For babysitting referrals, call North Lake Tahoe Resort Association (800-434-1262; 530-583-3494).

Children's lessons: Base Camp is a program for 4–6 year-olds and involves at least one hour on snow. Choose full day for $100 or a half day for $70. Summit Adventure Camp is for ages 6–12 (ski or snowboard). A full day costs $100 and includes lifts, equipment, lessons and lunch; half-day costs $70 (no lunch). The First Tracks package for teens who are first-timers includes lift ticket, two-hour lesson and rental (ski or snowboard) and costs $75. Lessons are out of the Mountain Sports Learning Center at the Mt. Judah base area.
