The practical Hotel Stoneham ($–$$; left) is an anchor in the ski area’s mini-village and offers 60 spacious rooms where children younger than age 18 stay for free when sharing a room with their parents. The ski area also rents out about 100 condos through Condominiums Stoneham, varying in size from studios to four bedrooms, all at the base of the slopes. The Condo du Village are most convenient. Attractive ski-and-stay packages are available. (Example: two adults, two children for two nights in a hotel for $172.) Le Manoir du Lac Delage (866-222-3810; 848-2551; $–$$) is just 10 minutes from Stoneham’s slopes, yet feels a world away. It’s a meticulously appointed country inn, with an excellent dining room overlooking the lake, a full spa and an indoor pool. A variety of winter packages are available, including the Ski Stoneham package, which includes one night lodging, one table d’hote dinner, one breakfast and one day of skiing for C$145 per person.

If not staying slopeside, the best option is to stay in Québec City, although the nearby town of Ste-Foy (25–30 minutes away) offers a Holiday Inn (800-463-5241; 653-4901), a Comfort Inn (800-463-5241; 653-4901) the Hotel Plaza (800-463-5777; 658-2727), Hotel Québec (800-463-5777; 658-5120), and Hotel Universel (800-463-4495; 653-5250).
