KidStuff (2007/08 prices, without taxes)

Child care: For ages 1 month–12 years. Cost for ages 19 months and older is C$29 with lunch; 18 months and younger, C$37. The second child from the same family costs C$22. The hourly rate is C$11 for infants 18 months and younger; C$8 for those older than 18 months.

Day care has bilingual caregivers, but most of the children on any given day speak only French. Open from 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. (9 a.m. on weekdays), the center is just a few steps from the main base lodge, but the walk to the actual skiing can be a bit of a trek for little ones. It has a large game room and separate sleeping and eating rooms, as well as a nifty adjacent outdoor playground. For those with young children, the day-care center will arrange babysitting if you call ahead. Reservations are recommended.

Children’s lessons: Kidz Island has programs designed for children ages 3–6. A full-day (8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; beginning at 9 a.m. weekdays) with a four-hour lesson, rentals, two snacks, lunch and day care is C$58. An afternoon program costs C$47. Multiday rates are available. For children just starting out, the ratio is four to six children per instructor.

The Adventure Package is a five-hour program (10 am.–3 p.m.) for ages 7–17 that includes lessons and lunch for C$59 (C$73 with lift ticket). Three consecutive days costs C$159 (C$201 with lift ticket) and five consecutive days is C$249 (C$319 with lift ticket). Discounted rentals available. Limited to eight students per group.
