Explore the wilderness around Snowmass on a leisurely guided two-hour snowshoe tour with an Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (925-5756) naturalist. Trips are daily 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; $45/adults; $29/kids and seniors 65 and older.
For a wilder time in the wilds of Snowmass, Maroon Bells or Independence Pass, go on a two- or four-hour guided snowmobile tour. Contact Blazing Adventures (923-4544), Western Adventures (923-3337) or T-Lazy-Seven (925-4614).
Krabloonik Kennels in Snowmass Village (923-4342) is known for its daily two-hour dogsledding tours through the Snowmass wilderness area, led by Iditarod-experienced huskies. Morning or afternoon rides include a four-course gourmet lunch at Krabloonik's restaurant.
Above It All Balloon (963-6148) and Unicorn Balloon (925-5752) are two companies that can give you a bird's-eye view of the Elk Mountains and local wildlife year-round. (right)
Pokolodi Lodge hosts campfire sing-alongs (Mondays) and story-telling (Wednesdays) complete with hot chocolate and marshmellows from 4-5 p.m. Free for all ages. Let your kids get creative at a free hour of Kids Krafts near the ticket pavilion in the Snowmass Mall from 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays while you enjoy apres-ski of a different kind. While you're there, ask where the best sledding slope is.
Snowmass has the only Zipline (925-1220) in the world that picks you up while skiing or boarding and takes you on an 800-foot drop down the mountain. So far, it's also the only winter zipline in Colorado.
Snowmass Recreation Center (922-2240) is a brand new facility with lap pool and fitness center. Cost is $15 a day for non-residents or less with punch passes. The Aspen Rec Center (544-4100) sits between the town of Aspen and Snowmass and has more activities for the whole family, including climbing wall, pools with slides and a hockey rink. The Snowmass Club (923-5600) has a full-service spa.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center (923-3181) in Snowmass Village exhibits
work by visiting and resident artists during the winter. The center
also offers a series of workshops in ceramics, woodworking and photography
from January through April. Call for current events.
