Lodging
(Area code 970)

Nearly half of the lodging at Snowmass is hotel rooms, and there are thousands of condominiums, many of which are slopeside. For other recommendations and reservations, call Snowmass Reservations (800-766-9627) or go to www.snowmassvillage.com.

The Silvertree (877-766-1999; $$$$) is the biggest hotel (260 rooms) with a conference center and feels like it inside. But it sits conveniently above the Snowmass Village Mall where most of the activity takes place.

Stonebridge Inn (; $–$$$; left), in the center of the village recently was renovated with $1 million in upgrades and added meeting space and a deck. In 2006/07, the Stonebridge Inn has partnered with the non-profit organization One Warm Coat to provide warm coats to those in need. Donate a "gently used" coat upon check-in and receive five percent off the entire reservation. Donate a maximum of four jackets and receive 20 percent off.

Less expensive hotel or lodge accommodations include the Pokolodi Lodge (800-666-4556; $–$$$); Snowmass Inn (800-635-3758; $–$$$); Snowmass Mountain Chalet (800-843-1579; $–$$$), which includes a full breakfast, delicious soup lunch and slopeside convenience (it just spent half a million in remodeling); or Wildwood Lodge (877-766-1999; $$–$$$$). Parking arrangements vary by property and can be inconvenient.

The Crestwood Condominium Hotel (800-356-5949; $$$–$$$$) is comfortable and roomy, right next to the slopes and well-designed for groups. Units have fireplaces, a bathroom for every bedroom, laundry facilities, new swimming pools and exercise room and airport shuttle service.

The Sonnenblick (800-525-9402; $$$$) has only large units, three or five bedrooms. For more moderate condos, try Terracehouse (800-525-9402; $$$–$$$$), a short walk to the lifts, or Lichenhearth (800-525-9402; $$$–$$$$), adjacent to the Fanny Hill lift. The Top of the Village (800-982-1311; $$$–$$$$; right) and the Timberline (800-922-4001; $$–$$$$) condos are a good 5- to 10-minute climb above the village mall. For economy condos, we like Willows ( 800-525-9402; $$$), two levels below the village mall.

Woodrun Place Condos and Conference Center (800-668-0401; $$$$) has had an extensive face-lift on its exterior to the tune of $12 million. The 33 townhomes at Woodrun V (800-718-3694; $$$$) have new exteriors and heated walkways, a new business center and other upgrades. The condos are right next to the midway loading station for the new Elk Camp Gondola. ) Chamonix (800-365-0410; $$$$) is another upscale condo complex.

Accommodations Legend: (double room) $$$$–$200+; $$$–$141–$200; $$–$81–$140; $–$80 and less
