
Dining at Snowbird (Area Code 801)
The Aerie Restaurant (933-2160; $$$; reservations recommended; right) on top of the Cliff Lodge, it is considered one of Utah's best restaurants, for good reason. The Asian decor is elegant and tasteful, the views from the large picture windows spectacular and the food and house piano player are excellent.The adjacent Aerie Sushi Bar ($$$) serves fresh hand-rolled sushi. At ground level of the Cliff Lodge's atrium, the Atrium Restaurant ($$$) is fine for baked goods and espresso, a lunch buffet or snacks. El Chanate ($$$) on Level A of the Cliff Lodge is the place for Mexican fare.
At the Iron Blosam Lodge, The Wildflower (933-2230; $$; reservations recommended) features outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. The Lodge Bistro ($$$$$) in the Lodge at Snowbird has a cozy atmosphere with an eclectic bistro menu. The Steak Pit ($$$) in the Snowbird Center at the base of the mountain specializes in hand-cut steaks and seafood. There's usually a wait, but it's worth it.
The
rest of the eateries in the Snowbird Center cater to the ski crowd,
serving breakfast and lunch. For sit-down service, The Forklift
($) has great sandwiches and salads, plus a large fireplace. For the best lunch value, go to the pasta bar at The
Rendezvous cafeteria where you can order huge servings of made-to-order
hot pasta dishes that are absolutely yummy for just $7.95. There's
also a well-stocked salad island and the usual cafeteria fare. Pier
49 San Francisco Sourdough Pizza has sourdough pizza with lots
of toppings. Birdfeeder has gourmet coffees, including espressos
and light snacks.
At Snowbird Center you'll find a grocery and
deli with a take-out breakfast and lunch counter. Its liquor
store is closed on Sundays and holidays.
