Lessons (2006/07 prices)

Smuggs calls its ski school Snow Sport University, and its director, Peter Ingvoldstad, has been acclaimed as one of the most innovative teachers in the country. Lessons for beginning adults are included with the Club Smugglers' Advantage Package. Lesson registration is taken when you make your reservations. Lessons also can be purchased separately.

Group lessons: A 90-minute lesson costs $39. Telemark lessons available for the same price.

First-timer package: The First Timer One-Day Package is $59 and includes a 90-minute coaching session, rentals and lift ticket valid on Morse Mountain. Lessons on the second and third days cost $30 each.

Private lessons: $70–$85 per hour for the first person, $40–$50 for each additional; six-hour private instruction or guided tour cost $299 per person or $399 for up to five people. Lessons with Peter Ingvoldstad, $150 per hour.

Special programs: Classes on style, terrain park tactics, jibs & jumps, parents teaching children to ski, halfpipe tricks, night snowboarding and programs for skiers 55 and older. Smugglers' also has a multi-day adult ski camp, The Mountain Experience for Skiers, to help skiers improve within a small group (intermediates and better); cost is $396. Boarding School is the snowboarding version of this same program.
