Apres-Ski / Nightlife
The Grande Allée is lined with bars and restaurants
and is the number one choice for nightlife in the city. Next to
the Lowes Le Concorde, at 575 Grande Allée, there is a complex
of nightlife. The top floor has a lounge called Charlotte,
the second floor is a disco called Maurice, the ground floor
is a bar called Cosmos. They were all filled on the Friday
night we visited. The bar at street level fills first, then Charlottes
Lounge starts up about 10 p.m. followed by Maurice around midnight.
The Clarendon Hotel has good jazz music. St. Jean Street
offers a number of bars with traditional French music including
La Playa that serves 75 different martini drinks to accompany Mexican
food (go figure).
Le Capitole features a Las Vegas-style dinner show. Dont
miss having a drink at the Bar St-Laurent in Le Chateau Frontenac.
Le Pape George is a bistro with French singers.
Down in the vieux-port district at 37 Quai Saint-André is
LInox, a large, smoky brew pub with pool tables and
loud music that attracts a young crowd.
