Mountain LayoutSnowboarding
Mont
Sutton has a terrain park, but most riders are here for the natural
terrain. You won't be disappointed either: You'll find natural river
beds, boulders, drop-offs, trees and dips. And no flats. This mountain
really wants you to ride it!
We'd be doing you a real
disservice if we told you to use a trail map while riding this mountain.
Our usual MO of telling you which trails to ride and which ones
to skip is meaningless. The locals are proud to say you can ride
this mountain for years and never come down the same way. And we
believe it! For truly, the way to ride this mountain is to merely
follow where your board takes you, and it takes you to a different
place every time. No one here rides just one run to the bottom,
they slip into glades and cut under lifts and dart down the bottom
sections of trails and catch air over boulders, usually riding at
least four trails and sous-bois before reaching the bottom. It's
an exhilarating experience, whether you're a beginner or an expert.
And the separation of ability levels ensures you won't end up somewhere
you shouldn't be.
Parks and pipes
The Skill Zone, or terrain park, is on Mohawk. It
has rails, jumps and various other terrain features. You'll find
DJ entertainment and competitions every weekend, starting at the
end of December.
