Getting there
By
air: Fly into Montreal's Dorval International Airport or Burlington
(Vt.) International Airport. If you arrive from outside Canada,
you'll need a passport or birth certificate for customs. You'll
need to rent a car either way.
By car: If you're coming from the United States, you'll need
a birth certificate or passport to cross the border. The Eastern
Townships resorts are fairly spread out, and the travel directions
vary considerably according to where you're going. The best bet
is to ask your lodging for directions and/or print off a map from
the resort's or lodging's website. Access from the major northeastern
U.S. metro areas is relatively easy, via interstates 89, 91 and
93. Mont Sutton is on Rte. 139 near the U.S./Canadian border. Here's
a general rule of thumb for travel time: The resorts are about an
hour from Montreal, one to two hours from Burlington, four to five
hours from Boston, and six to seven hours from New York. Here's
a regional road map.
Getting around: You'll
need a car. Everything is spread out, and you'll want to explore
the surrounding area and visit the various resorts.
