Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing (Area Code 802)

Near the base of the Killington Access Road, Mountain Meadows Cross-Country Ski Resort (775-7077) has 57 km. of trails meandering across Kent Lake and through surrounding forests. Mountain Top Cross-Country Ski Resort (483-2311), in Chittenden, has 110 km. of trails, 40 km. of dual-set tracks and 0.5 km. of trails with snowmaking. Both areas have rentals, lessons, ski shops and warming huts. Mountain Top offers sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Killington’s new Winter Adventure Center (422-6200) at the golf course (across the road from the Grand Resort Hotel) is great for snowshoeing.

In Woodstock, the Ski Touring Center (457-2114) has 75 km. of trails, lessons and rentals.
