Cranmore is one of the oldest ski resorts in the nation. This alone
makes it worth a visit.
Its
good, balanced terrain, modest size (yet with an extensive trail
system) and convenient location make it an ideal mountain for families.
The sunbathed slopes are predominantly south facing, and lower elevation
means its the warmest of all the valley areas. Cranmore skis
larger than it is, and has both open slopes (dont miss the
back, or east, side of the mountain), as well as classic, narrower
New England trails.
Cranmore is in the popular Mt.
Washington Valley region, practically in the center of North
Conway. As part of the family of Booth Creek Resorts ( Waterville
Valley, 90 minutes away, is a sister resort).
In addition to the standard
skiing and snowboarding, Cranmore offers night skiing during Cranapalooza, a family-oriented event featuring fireworks (on select dates), live bands and children-friendly entertainers Saturdays from 2pm until 9pm. Weekends and holidays, non-skiers can enjoy lift-serviced tubing on seven groomed lanes in the Artic Blast tubing park.
