Bromley Mountain, Vermont

Mountain Layout—Skiing

Intimate in atmosphere and size, Bromley offers a lot of variety for a small package. There is some advanced terrain, but most of the 44 trails come down blue from the summit, leading into gentle cruising greens; perfect practice runs for intermediates and beginners. With its southern exposure, Bromley is at its best on a sunny day. However, on a windy day, a trip to the top can mean one cold ride.

Here's a larger, more detailed trail map.

Expert, Advanced:

Bromley's steeper east side has several black runs. Short and sharp with a double fall line, the longest of these challenging runs—Stargazer, Havoc and Blue Ribbon—bring you down to the Blue Ribbon Quad. There is tree skiing between Pabst Peril and Avalanche and the gladed Plunge, when open, can be a certifiable challenge.

Intermediate:

This is a perfect mountain for every level of intermediate. The mellower trails are to skier's right off the high-speed quad. The black-diamond trails offer advanced-intermediate skiers excellent challenge.

Beginner, First-timer:

There's a good beginner area with a closed-in first-time section of the mountain. From the summit, Thruway is good for beginners.

The segregated Learning Center Area, a short gentle slope to the right of the base lodge, is perfect for first-timers. It's served by two surface lifts.
