Lessons (2006/07
prices)
Lesson
packages for all abilities encourage spreading out learning: Start with the Option Packone full-day lesson and two half-day lessons any time during your vacation. We provide prices for regular season; rates are
a bit lower during the value season.
Group lessons: $90 for a full day (five hours); half day costs $80.
First-timer package:
First-time Discovery Series for three full-day lessons with ticket, rentals and lunch
costs $235. Instructors meet you in the rental shop to guide you
through the process, which can often be a bit daunting for first-timers.
The instructor has lunch with your class to answer questions and
help everyone feel more at ease.
Snowboarders take a full-day class through the Burton Learn-to-Ride program, which offers lessons, lunch, ticket and special Burton equipment designed to "fast track" the learning curve for $216; reservations required.
Private lessons: $365
for three hours; $520 for a full day. Reservations are strongly
recommended.
Special programs:
There are many daily and multiday programs, including racing, telemark,
bumps, Big Mountain Adventure (for the chutes, cornices and steeps off Imperial Chair), parks and pipes, and lessons for disabled
skiers. Women's camps (skiing, snowboarding, telemarking and backcountry)
include lunch, video analysis and updates on new women-specific
gear. A two-day Prime Time seminar (50-plus age group) includes
lift tickets, instruction, video analysis and a group dinner. For
more information and rates, call (888) 576-2754.
Racing: NASTAR and
self-timed courses are set up on Lower American on Peak 9.
